1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Words of Culture (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. About the Service

Words of Culture is a cultural wisdom platform that provides proverbs, sayings, and national anthems from African and Caribbean countries. The Service is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at support@wordsofculture.com. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; copy, redistribute, or republish content from Words of Culture without permission; attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service; create multiple accounts to abuse free features; or use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.

5. Intellectual Property

The Words of Culture name, logo, app design, and original content are the intellectual property of Words of Culture. All rights reserved. Proverbs and traditional sayings are part of the cultural heritage of their respective communities. Our translations and cultural explanations are original works owned by Words of Culture.

6. User-Generated Content

If you submit a proverb, correction, or any other content, you grant Words of Culture a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content. You confirm that any submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe any third-party rights.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Words of Culture offers paid subscription tiers: Monthly (£0.99/month), Annual (£10/year), and Lifetime (£24.99 one-time). Monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Lifetime access is a one-time payment with no recurring charge. All prices include VAT where applicable. Refunds are at our discretion and handled case by case.

8. Advertising

The free version of Words of Culture displays third-party advertisements via Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Purchasing a subscription removes all advertisements.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of all proverb translations or cultural explanations, though we strive for accuracy. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Words of Culture shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time via the app settings or by contacting support@wordsofculture.com.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of material changes via the app.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
